Saudi Arabia Expresses Concern Over Violence in Sudan and Calls for Ceasefire
السعودية والسودان

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's concern regarding the ongoing fighting in sisterly Sudan and the escalating violence that has affected civilians, including women and children. In this context, it condemned the recent events in the eastern part of Al-Jazeera State, which resulted in several civilian deaths and injuries, considering this a violation of international law and the principle of civilian protection.

Saudi Arabia called for adherence to the commitments made in the Jeddah Declaration signed on May 11, 2023, urging the warring parties to cease fire, end the conflict, and facilitate humanitarian aid access to those affected. The Kingdom reaffirmed its steadfast position in supporting the stability of Sudan and preserving the unity of its legitimate institutions, sovereignty, and independence, emphasizing that a political solution is the only path to resolve the crisis in Sudan.
