Iranian Supreme Leader's Speech Reflects Tehran's Expansionist Policy in Region, Exploiting Lebanese People's Suffering to Achieve its Agenda and Strengthen Regional Control

Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei exploited Lebanon's suffering, directing an emotionally charged verbal message to the Lebanese people, stating: "We are not separate from you, we are with you, we are one".
Iran's Tasnim News Agency broadcast Khamenei's statements in his message "to the steadfast and resistant Lebanese people amid war," using emotional expressions saying: "We share your pain, suffering, and anguish, we hurt with you and feel the same feelings."
This message coincided with dangerous military escalation on the Lebanese-Israeli border, where Iran-backed Hezbollah opened a "support" front for Gaza on October 8, 2023, following Hamas's attack on southern Israel.
Israel escalated its military operations since September 23, targeting Hezbollah positions in southern and eastern Lebanon and Beirut's southern suburbs, before announcing "limited" ground operations on September 30.
The mutual military escalation resulted in over 3,500 deaths in Lebanon, according to Lebanese Ministry of Health statistics, while 46 civilians and 78 military personnel were killed in Israel, according to official data.
These developments come amid continuing war in Gaza that erupted following Hamas's attack on southern Israel on October 7, 2023, which killed 1,206 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapped 251 people, with 97 still in Gaza, including 34 believed dead.
Israel responded with a violent military campaign on Gaza Strip that killed at least 43,922 people, mostly civilians, according to latest Gaza Health Ministry statistics.
