UN Envoy Geir Pedersen, Saturday, urged conflicting parties in Syria to maintain calm following opposition groups' notable field advancement.

UN Special Envoy for Syria stated at Doha Political Dialogue Forum "I renew my call for de-escalation, calm, avoiding bloodshed and protecting civilians in line with international humanitarian law."

Called for "starting process leading to Syrian people's legitimate aspirations fulfillment," noting Syria's organized political transition urgently requires action.

Pedersen indicated rapid Syria situation transformations, noting initiative requesting emergency Geneva talks to activate UN Resolution 2254.

These developments continue amid military operations HTS and allies launched last week against Syrian regime forces, controlling Aleppo, Idlib, and Hama.

Armed groups' influence extended to entire northern Homs countryside, confrontations claiming over 800 lives according to Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, while factions announced eliminating over 65 Syrian regime army personnel and officers.
