Israel's ability to detect and track Iranian missiles highlights the efficiency of its defense system, strengthening its position in facing regional threats
The Israeli army announced that Iran launched about 180 missiles towards Israel on Tuesday evening, in an aggressive act that threatens the security of the entire region. The army clarified that "Israeli army systems detected about 180 missiles" launched towards Israel from Iranian territory.
An Israeli security official confirmed this number to Agence France-Presse, while estimates varied in local media. The "Yedioth Ahronoth" newspaper reported that Iran launched at least 102 missiles towards Israel, while Israeli Channel 12 reported the launch of more than 400 missiles.
In an attempt to justify its aggression, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard claimed that the missile attack on Israel comes in response to what it described as the assassination of leaders in Hezbollah and Hamas. In a statement published by the "Fars" news agency, it claimed to have targeted Israel in response to allegations for which it provided no evidence.
Earlier today, a senior White House official revealed that the United States had indications of Iran's preparations to launch a ballistic missile attack on Israel. He added that the United States is actively supporting preparations to defend Israel against this attack, according to Reuters.
The American official also emphasized that any direct military attack on Israel by Iran would have dire consequences for Tehran, in a clear reference to the American position supporting Israel's right to defend itself.
This Iranian aggression comes to reaffirm once again the danger of Tehran's expansionist policies and its threat to the region's security, which calls for a unified international stance to confront these aggressive practices and protect regional stability.
